Laura Horne was born in England, and is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer and curator currently living and working in New York City. Horne was the co-director of Christopher Cutts Gallery, Toronto (2005 - 2015) and is the founding editor at TUSSLE magazine (2013 - present) and curator at TussleProjects (2020). Horne graduated from the journalism program at St. Clair, Windsor and studied communications at the University of Windsor then received a postgraduate degree in digital media and design at George Brown, Toronto and studied design at Ontario College of Art and Design University, Toronto.
Artist statement: There is a consistent subtext that runs through Horne's work, an undercurrent of mystery. Seemingly to implicate the viewer in subtle ways that challenge the notions of material reality and the reliability of the senses to correspond with what exists and what is really real.
