Laura Horne was born in England, she is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer and curator currently living and working in New York City. Horne was the co-director of Christopher Cutts Gallery, Toronto, Canada (2004 - 2015) and is the founding editor at TUSSLE magazine (2013 - present).
There is a consistent subtext that runs through her work, an undercurrent of mystery. Seemingly to implicate the viewer in subtle ways that challenge the notions of material reality and the reliability of the senses to correspond with what exists and what is really real.
Her work was represented by SB Contemporary, Windsor, from 2016 until the gallery’s closure in 2019. Horne recently was awarded a FREE SPACE | Self Directed Residency by Arts Council Windsor & Region and solo exhibition at One Ten Park Gallery in Downtown Windsor (2017). She has participated in NUIT BLANCHE, Toronto (2015) and her work has been featured in Toronto's CONTACT Photography Festival (2011 - 2013). Her work has been exhibited in a solo exhibition at Gallery 44, Toronto (2011).
